Opening an account

You can register for an account through www.minipol.app or by downloading the iOS or Android apps. Opening an account and using the app are free. Your responsible adult needs to give you permission to open an account by responding to an email.
Minipol can only be used by personal users aged 7-14. Personal usersaged 13 or older can use the Pinipol app at available at www.pinipol.app or iOS and Android app stores.When a user becomes 13, the user will receive a notification to state that they are eligible to open an account on Pinipol. A user’s Minipol account will automatically be closed on their 14th birthday. Business accounts can be opened in Minipol by adults only.
A personal account is free to open and use by users aged 7-14. Personal users can create polls that have 2 options. There are no limits to the number of polls that a personal user can create. A business account is also free to open and use but must be set up by adults. In-app purchases will be possible to increase the number of polls that can be posted by a business user. Business users can post polls that have up to 4 options. Business users can also pay to post ‘Premium polls’ which are displayed more prominently in other users’ home screen.
Business accounts can be opened by adults representing companies, groups, charities and other organisations. An individual user cannot open a business account for personal use...
The app is free to use for personal users. Business users can use the app without cost, or pay to access additional features, including the ability to post more polls or post Premium polls that are displayed more prominently in other users’ home screens.

User profile

User profile details can be changed at any time through the main profile tab in the app. You cannot change your date of birth or username.
Personal users can only use one of the Avatars from the app library for their profile. This is to prevent personal users being identified by other app users. Business users can use any image for their profile picture.
The minimum information required to set up an account are name, date of birth and email address. All other profile information is optional, but would enhance user experience by enabling more relevant polls to be highlighted.
Your profile information is only visible to you. When a user votes on a poll, the poll owner will be able to see anonymised information about the voter (such as age or location), but the identity (name or username) of the voter will not be visible to the poll owner or anyone else.
Genius and Wizard statuses indicate that a user is good at predicting the outcome of a poll. A user becomes a Genius when the user has chosenthe most popular option in at least 75%of the polls they voted on. A Wizard is a user who has voted the same as the majority of the voters in more than 90% of cases. The status of Genius and Wizard are only assigned when a user has voted on at least 100 polls. A user’s status is updated after every additional 50 votes the user casts.

Posting a poll

You can post a poll through www.minipol.app or through the iOS or Android apps. You can set the poll to become live immediately, or schedule it to become live at a specified later date and time
You can post a poll on any topic that does not contravene the terms and conditions of the use of the app. Polls must not be posted on topics that are illegal, discriminatory, offensive or unsuitable for children aged 7-14.
You can make the poll visible to everyone (a public poll), to all your friends, or only to a group that you own or are a member of.
Personal users must choose two options for each poll. Business users can choose up to 4 options for every poll.
You can add images from the web, your mobile device, or by searching through the library of images through the app. The images must not contain your face or the face of other users
Every poll must have a specified closing date and time. You can also set the poll to be closed when a specific number of votes have been cast. When both options are chosen, the poll will close whenever either of these conditions have been met, whichever happens first. You can also choose to end a poll early at anytime.
The results of our poll will be visible to everyone who was invited to vote on the poll (whoever the poll was visible to, even if they did not vote on the poll). You can also make the results of the poll to be visible to everyone (public).
The results of the poll will be visible to the users who were eligible to vote on it for at least 7 days from the date of closure. You may also choose to make the result of the poll permanently visible.
Yes, you may post a poll anonymously. When a poll is posted anonymously, voters will not be able to see the identity of the poll owner.
A live poll cannot be changed. It can only be ended early. If you need to change a poll, you must end the poll and post a new poll. When a poll is ended early, the results of the poll will be made available in the same manner as all other polls.
A Premium poll is a poll that appears in all users’ home feed. It is displayed more prominently and is likely to attract more votes. Business users, but not personal users, can pay to post Premium polls. Every personal user who votes on 100 polls is automatically awarded the opportunity to post a Premium poll, which they must post within 30 days of receiving the award. The Premium poll will expire if it has not been posted within that time.

Voting on a poll

You can vote on all polls that are visible to you. These may be Public polls (visible to everyone), or polls posted by your friends or posted in a group that you are a member of.
A user can only choose one of the options on a poll. When a vote has been cast, it cannot be changed.
You can only vote once on a poll.
Polls that are visible to you will appear in your home feed screen. Polls posted by your friends, groups or users you follow will appear in your Personal feed screen. Public polls posted by other users will appears in your Global feed screen. You can search for polls in both your Personal and Global feed screens.
You will receive a notification that a poll you previously voted on has closed. The results of the poll will be visible for a minimum of 7 days. The poll owner may choose to make the results permanently visible.
You can search for closed polls if the results are still publicly visible. Closed polls can be searched through the vote on a poll tab.
All votes are cast anonymously. The poll owner and other poll voters can see who else has voted in a poll, but they will not be able to see which option you have voted on.
Your friends, groups and followers can see which polls you have voted on. However, they will not be able to see which option you choose in any specific poll..
The poll owner will be able to see which users have voted on their poll. The poll owner, however, will not be able to see which option any user chose. The poll owner will be able to filter the results of the poll by demographics of the voters (such as age, gender or location).

Connections

You can search for friends by username. You must then send a friend request and wait for the friendship request to be accepted. Your responsible adult must also authorise the friendship by responding to an email. You can see which polls your friends post or vote on.
You can search for other users by username and follow them. Following another user does not require the permission of that user. You can see which polls users you follow post or vote on.
You can set up a group through the Connections tab. When you set up a group, you become the owner and administrator of the group and can add your friends to that group. The group owner can decide whether group members can post polls, vote on polls, or both. The group owner can also assign other members of the group as administrators. Group administrators can add or remove members from the group and change their posting and voting privileges. Only a group owner can delete a group.
A group owner can only add their friends to the group. When a user is added to a group, the user receives a notification to inform them. The user can choose to leave the group at any time.

Privacy and data use

The privacy terms of the app are available through www.minipol.app. Minipol reserves the right to use anonymised (unidentified) demographic data and data related to the use of the app, including polls posted, votes cast.
Anonymised (unidentified) data about you may be made available to advertisers or business users of the app, for the purposes of posting polls or adverts that align better with the interests of the app users.
Anonymised data about you, polls posted and votes cast may be kept by the app developers permanently, including after you delete your account. The closed polls posted by you will continue to be visible after your account is deleted if you had made the results permanently public. Votes cast by you will continue to be visible to the poll owner, even after your account is deleted.

Advertising

Adverts will not be shown in Minipol. Business users may post polls that ask the opinion of users about their products.
